One of the latest technologies we offer at Triad Cosmetic Dentistry is the GALILEOS Comfort 3D Cone Beam Scanner. This advanced machine allows our team to perform a complete dental scan in as little as 14 seconds. Discover how our advanced 3D Cone Beam Scanner will elevate your dental experience by reading our guide below.

3D Cone Scanner

The GALILEOS 3D Cone Scanner uses cone beam volumetric imaging to produce very high-quality dental imaging. Our GALILEOS technology allows for panoramic, cephalometric, and transversal slice acquisition display imagery with zero distortion. The superior level of detail provides a clear and precise view of all teeth, roots, gum lines, and defects or imperfections.

The GALILEOS 3D Cone Scanner is simply the best, most reliable dental imaging device available, and Triad Cosmetic Dentistry is one of just a handful of North Carolina dentists to utilize such advanced technology.

Although the GALILEOS 3D Cone Beam Scanner is used for many purposes, we focus on placing dental implants using this 3D-guided system. At Triad Cosmetic Dentistry, we believe the GALILEOS 3D Cone Beam Scanner is the most advanced, safest way to place dental implants.

The GALILEOS 3D Cone Scanner offers both dentists and patients many advantages, including:

  • Lowest radiation possible
  • Quick, comfortable, and easy scans of the mouth, face, and jaw
  • Immediate diagnosis and treatment planning in one appointment
  • Fewer appointments
  • Implant placement is safer, more accurate, and more predictable
  • Allows visualization of areas hidden by digital x-rays

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the 3D cone beam scans used for?

The dental cone beam computed tomography (CT) technology is a special type of x-ray used when regular dental x-rays aren’t sufficient. At Triad Cosmetic Dentistry, we use this advanced technology to produce 3D images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways, and bone in one single scan. This allows Dr. MacDonald to get an in-depth look at any potential oral health conditions as well as better visualization before performing certain procedures.

Are cone beam scans necessary for every patient?

No, not every patient may need cone beam scans done. We’ll only recommend digital x-rays or 3D cone beam scans when necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of disease. In general, digital dental x-rays are done once a year to ensure there are no issues with the patient’s oral health. If we need a more in-depth visualization of your teeth, gums, soft tissues, or bone, we may recommend a 3D cone beam scan.
