Our Denture Solutions
At our Archdale dental office, we feature three types of dentures to ensure patients find the restorative dentistry solution they’re seeking. Depending on your oral health needs, our Triad dentists will work with you to determine the best treatment option.
Partial Dentures
If you’re missing some teeth but not a majority of them, we offer partial dentures. Partial dentures can be customized to meet your needs and prevent the surrounding teeth from shifting out of place. This restoration will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your smile, providing a flawless appearance.
Complete Dentures
If you’re missing one or both arches of teeth, complete dentures may be the perfect solution for you. To make sure they comfortably fit, Dr. MacDonald will use digital imaging technology to create an impression of your smile. In just a couple of weeks, you can transform your appearance and smile with confidence like never before.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported dentures combine the convenience of dentures with the security and long-term health benefits of dental implants. Depending on your situation, Dr. MacDonald can anchor a set of full or partial dentures with implants for a more comfortable, stable solution.
With implant-supported dentures, you’ll receive a more durable and easier-to-maintain denture solution. They also stimulate healthy jawbone growth to prevent deterioration and preserve your oral health.
The Denture Process at Triad Cosmetic Dentistry
Once you and your dentist have decided on the best course of treatment, you’ll begin the process of receiving your dentures. Your restoration will be customized specifically for you, allowing you to pick the shade of your new smile. Dr. MacDonald will also make sure it aligns with the contour of your gums.
During your initial consultation, he’ll examine your oral health and look for any signs of decay, infection, or teeth that may need to be extracted. The entire process denture process is simple, pain-free, and can be completed in just six steps:
- Measurements will be taken and a mold will be made to ensure the dentures fit your mouth comfortably and precisely.
- We’ll send your tooth impressions to a dental laboratory where a plastic mock-up will be made.
- Once we receive the mock-up, you’ll come back into our Archdale dental office for a fitting, and we’ll make note of any feedback and send them back for adjustments.
- The lab will set your new dentures in acrylic.
- You’ll come in for your last fitting where we’ll make any necessary changes.
- You’ll walk out of our office with your brand new beautiful smile.

Maintaining Your Dentures
Your denture care will differ depending on the type of dentures you’ve received. The main difference between care is based on whether they’re removable or not.
Removable dentures are cleaned outside of your mouth. After you eat, remove your dentures and rinse them off. At the end of the day, remove them and clean your mouth. Make sure to brush your dentures at least once a day, then soak them overnight in a denture cleaning solution. Always thoroughly rinse your restoration before putting them into your mouth each morning.
Permanent dentures should be brushed and flossed as if they’re your natural teeth. Make sure to use a soft-bristled toothbrush, non-abrasive toothpaste, and gentle floss or interdental cleaners so your dentures don’t get scratched.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are false teeth made of?
False teeth are made up of dental materials such as resin, porcelain, acrylic, nylon, or metal. The framework of dentures is typically created from acrylic, nylon, or metal. The materials used to create your false teeth, or dentures, will depend on the type of dentures you’re receiving. No matter what material is used, dentures are a comfortable and natural-looking tooth replacement option.
How long do dentures last?
On average, dentures can last between 7 to 10 years. While they won’t last forever, and they’ll eventually need to be replaced, dentures are a preferred restoration for patients missing most of their teeth. However, if you take proper care of your denture restoration, it can help increase its longevity.
How much do dentures cost?
The cost of your dentures will depend on a few factors such as the type of denture you receive, if you need any teeth extracted, and your insurance coverage. At your initial consultation with your dentist, we’ll discuss your oral health needs and break down the projected costs of your treatment.
At Triad Cosmetic Dentistry, we provide dental financing options, such as CareCredit, to ensure each patient gets the care they need.
