Dr. Macdonald resides in Greensboro with his wife, Terri of 30 years, who is also a hygienist. Together, they have 3 boys, Andrew, Daniel and Bradley and they are the proud Grandparents of Brody, Max and Lily
EDUCATION
As a longtime Greensboro resident who graduated from Grimsley High School in 1973, Dr. Keith MacDonald, DDS knows the Triad area well. A true Tarheel, Dr. Macdonald earned his BS in Chemistry from UNC in 1977 and went on to graduate from the UNC School of Dentistry in 1981. His true passion for what he does has led Dr. Macdonald to continue his education over the past 30 years in all areas of dentistry by attending advanced training courses so that knowledge can be shared with his patients to better serve them at each and every visit. Dr. Macdonald is a Fellow of both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Institute of Advanced Laser Dentistry.
Dr. Macdonald has the ability to treat severe periodontal problems due to his knowledge in Advanced Laser Dentistry. His desire to keep up with the latest technology that helps patients with their overall health is one of his biggest passions. The Periolase from Millenium Dental Technologies sterilizes periodontal pathogens that cause bone loss and infections of the gum tissues, and is the only FDA approved laser in the world. He is proud to have helped many people who would have lost their teeth. With this technique, the laser stimulates bone regeneration around periodontally involved teeth. But just as important, it also saves failing implants.
- In 2016, 2017 & 2018, he attended the Dental XP Annual Conference for Advanced Implant Lectures and hands on training.
- In 2019, he attended the Glidewell Symposium in Orlando, FL for Comprehensive Dental Education.
DENTAL EXPERIENCE
Dr. Macdonald has a broad knowledge of dental procedures, with a focus on implant surgery and full mouth reconstruction. A brief background of his continuing education is outlined below:
- In 2004 he attended the Great Lakes Education Center for Cerec Training
- In 2007, he studied at the South Beach Implant Institute for Advanced Head and Neck Anatomy
- In 2008, he studied CAD CAM Cerec 3 D Training at the San Antonio Institute for Dentistry
- From 2009-2010, he studied the Advanced Anterior Cerec Course and the Advanced Posterior Cerec Course at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry
- In 2009, he studied at the Triangle Institute Dental Implant Continuum and received more than 200 hours of continuing education and training on placing implants
- In February 2009, he received recognition of Fellow at the International Congress of oral Implantologists at the International Meeting in New Orleans
- Studied at San Antonio Institute for Dentistry and completed the Advanced Anterior in Cerec Design.
- In February 2010, he attended the International Implant Surgery Training Meeting Conference at the Sclar Center in Miami for Advanced Soft Tissue Grafting
- In 2011, he was chosen by the Scottsdale Center of Dentistry to be a mentor for Cerec Doctors due to his extensive knowledge and training.
- From 2012-2013, he attended advanced training in 6 Month Smiles A short term Ortho program to straighten your teeth using clear brackets in 6 months. To date, he has done over 50 cases.
- In 2013, he attended the Garg Institute for Soft Tissue Grafting
- In 2013, he attended the 3D International Summit in Orlando, Florida for extensive training and lectures on 3D Conebeam technology for Implant Dentistry, sleep and airway evaluation and other aspects used to help diagnose patient with their oral and overall health.
- In 2013, he attended a seminar in Louisville, Kentucky with one of the leading all on four Implant Dentists in the United States. This technique is patented by Nobel Biocare and allows permanent placement of dentures.
- In 2014 he became a Member of the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry and a Certified Provider of LANAP and in 2015, he received designation of Fellow.
Tesha Whaley, D.D.S Helping You Achieve The Perfect Smile
ORTHODONTIC & TMJ TRAINING
Dr. Whaley is highly trained in orthodontics and the treatment of TMJ disorders. She has completed many continuing education courses training with orthodontic and neuromuscular studies in West Virginia and at LVI in Las Vegas. She also completed a mini-residency with Dr. Jay Gerber in West Virginia who solely treated TMJ and orthodontic patients in his private practice before retiring.
Home Life
Dr. Whaley has boy girl twins, Reece and Rylan, that were born in July of 2011. She enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, and practicing yoga
EDUCATION
Tesha Whaley, DDS, is committed to providing you with the best dentistry has to offer and it shows through her personalized care of patients and her continuous post-graduate training. Dr. Whaley graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina State University in 1997 with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and then graduated in 2005 from the UNC-Chapel Hill Dental School.
She worked for 4 years as a chemical engineer but then decided that her true calling was in the dentistry field. She joined the practice in 2005 and became a partner in 2011.
Dr. Whaley was awarded her LVI Fellowship in May of 2010 from the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. The LVI fellowship curriculum consisted of 275 hours of continuing education at the Las Vegas dental facility which focused on advanced cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry.
A significant part of her training was hands on with patients she brought from her own practice. There she studied under the most highly trained and respected dentists in the United States and Canada. Dr. Whaley is one of fewer than twenty dentists in North Carolina who has obtained the distinction of LVI Fellow.

Home Life
Daniel currently resides in Greensboro with his wife Melissa, whom he married in May 2013. They have two sons Brody born in September 2016 and Max born in June 2019 which keep him very busy, he cherishes family more than anything. He enjoys anything involving sports, painting, and just hanging out with his friends and family. Traveling and exploring new cities and food is what he and his wife look forward to.
EDUCATION
Innovative ideas with a modern influence, along with an enthusiastic, charismatic personality are a few benefits Daniel Macdonald brings to our family of patients. Daniel graduated from Ragsdale High School in 2005 and from there, attended North Carolina State University and graduated in 2009 with a BA in Chemistry.
In between his undergraduate studies and his venture into dental school he worked at the Oral Health Institute at the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry and completed a one-year research program under the guidance of Dr. Eric Everett. Dr. Daniel attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He graduated with his DMD in May 2014.
He completed the Fellowship program at the Triangle Dental Institute for Implant Dentistry where he accrued over 200 hours of implant training with some of the leading implant clinicians and lecturers in the world. Implants are something Daniel takes pride in and is always looking to improve a patients smile from single tooth replacement to the overall fit of dentures.
COSMETIC DENTISTRY EXPERIENCE
Cosmetic work is also something he enjoys to dive into due to his artistic background, he is always trying to achieve the perfect smile. He continues to expand his knowledge to achieve the best result possible. He trained under Dr. Miguel Ortiz for dental photography along with his preparation design to make the outcomes more predictable. Using high quality dental labs for cosmetic work is something he is passionate about which leads to a desired outcome. Dr. Daniel has been traveling to multiple continuing education courses all over the country to better his knowledge in both implant dentistry as well advanced Cerec trainings. Some of the trainings include the famous SPEAR Education center in Scottsdale Arizona that he has completed multiple courses on a wide range of topics. He has also taken courses for Six Month Smile and Invisalign for straightening teeth predictably with wonderful results.
The Cerec is also one of Dr. Daniel’s passions, the knowledge and access to advanced technology provides Dr. Daniel and his patients with ideal fitting crowns, bridges, and veneers. With the Cerec technology Dr. Daniel is able to deliver crowns and veneers all in one appointment saving the patient time, money, and a trip to the dentist!
Once a month he meets with a large group of dentists from the area to discuss topics in dentistry and review complicated cases to better his practice. He will be practicing dentistry with us, under the mentorship of his father, Dr. Keith Macdonald.

Dr. Brad focuses on his quality of care and wants to help his patients feel at ease in order to optimize their dental health. It is important that his patients are comfortable while at the dentist and he believes good oral hygiene is key to living a happy and healthy lifestyle.
Home Life
Dr. Brad Macdonald was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and has a great appreciation for the area and the people here. Dr. Brad and his wife Jennifer met in dental school and they were married on June 29th, 2019. They both live in Greensboro, NC with their daughter Lily and brown dachshund Barkley, who you may see around the office. Dr. Jennifer works at Piedmont Pediatric Dental. Dr. Brad’s interests and hobbies include playing golf and tennis, snow skiing, Tar Heel basketball, Panthers football, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends.
Dr. Brad is one of the talented cosmetic dentists at our Archdale, NC practice and is always eager to help patients achieve the smile they have always wanted.
EDUCATION
Dr. Brad graduated from Ragsdale High School in 2009 before he attended college at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated with a BS in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry in 2013. From there Dr. Brad attended Dental School at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine in Greenville, NC and graduated in May 2017.
During his time at ECU SoDM, he worked in Community Service Learning Centers in Spruce Pine, Bolivia, and Lexington, North Carolina. These clinics were placed in underserved areas in order to meet the dental needs throughout the state.
Since working at Triad Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Brad has continued to learn about new dental procedures and techniques that have helped expand his knowledge of dentistry. A brief background of his continuing education is outlined below:
In 2017, he became a Spear Education member of Greensboro and has traveled to Scottsdale, AZ multiple times in order to learn the curriculum set out by Frank Spear DDS, MSD.
In 2017, Dr. Brad attended the Dawson Academy in Clearwater, FL in order to provide a better understanding of worn dentition and occlusion.
In 2018, he became certified in Six Month Smile, and has the ability to provide limited orthodontics to patients.
Dr. Brad MacDonald, DDS has completed over 168 hours in continuing education at the Triangle Implant Institute in Research Triangle Park, NC and is now able to place and restore implants successfully.

What’s the difference between a DDS and a DMD?
If you’ve been on the search for a new dentist, you may notice that there are both DDS and DMD titles. However, they both mean the same thing — that your dentist graduated from an accredited dental school. DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) are the same degrees and both dentists receive the same education.
